Alakylä School is a primary school for grades 0–6 located in Alakylä. Additionally, Alakylä School includes Tirinkylä School (grades 1–6), which is located in Tirinkylä. Alakylä School belongs to the eastern student area.
Alt Architects Ltd designed this new school building. The scale, roof shape, and materials of the building follow the principles of the old buildings, while adding a new temporal layer to the whole.
Otherwise was responsible for the lighting design for this project, and it uses lights from Otherwise.
The design was based on the idea of providing adjustable lighting in the classrooms.
